What’s the weirdest massage you can get in Cebu? I think it must be the snake massage which is now available at the zoo. They are offering a massage from very big Burmese pythons. It's totally free, and has loads of people queuing up for a chance to enjoy it. The visitors lie on the bamboo bed and the pythons are placed one at a time on top of them.
The snake massage is performed by pythons by the names of Michelle, Walter, EJ and Daniel. The 5 metre long snakes weigh a total of 250kg and could easily crush a person. Safety measures are taken though. The snakes are well fed before massage treatments begin, and watchful snake handlers stand close by in case something goes wrong. I don’t think the snakes speak Cebuano or English so if you don’t know Parseltongue then you might need translation services !
If you go there then you will also be briefed on other precautions like not blowing on the snakes, because they are sensitive to human breath. Visitors are also told not to shout or struggle as the snake might think your vibrations are prey or a predator.
Although pythons are scary, they are not venomous and don’t hurt people unless they feel threatened. Many people say that the snake massage feels lovely and that the snakes’ tongues flick in and out resulting in a tickling sensation.

The internet in the Philippines just turned twenty years old last March 29. It all started at USC – Talamban Campus and since then the internet opened the gateway of information and communication to Filipinos who was then behind from other Asian countries when it comes to internetwork connectivity.
Cebu and the neighbor Mandaue City celebrated it with forums and discussions on how the internet has come a long way since then. Like providing high quality jobs to moms who love to take care of their son and family and work at the same time at home. Jobless people who turned to internet got into jobs and worked on tasks and positions like virtual assistant, internet marketing and translation services among others.
Internet also has come a long way in helping people with their business and even prompted some people to start their own business on the internet.
There are a lot of things or shall I say a limitless number of things that we can do with the internet. However, the cost of internet here in our country is still expensive and yet so slow when it comes to speed. Unlike other Asian countries such as South Korea who happens to have the fastest internet speed in the world. Even on subways they still get good internet signal and speed.
Hopefully soon the internet in the Philippines will not just improve but provide more opportunities to the people and make families closer.
